LACEY’S SPRING, Ala. (WHNT) – A Brewer High School bus was involved in a wreck with at least one other car on Hwy 231, just south of the Hwy 36 intersection.

Morgan County Schools Superintendent Bill Hopkins, Jr. says the bus driver and students are uninjured, but he was unsure about the condition of the other driver.

The accident happened at 3:45 Thursday afternoon. Morgan County Schools Bus 83 transporting Lacey’s Spring’s students home from Brewer High Schools was hit by a vehicle travelling north on Hwy 231 north at River Loop Rd, according to Layne H. Dillard, the director of secondary programs at Morgan County Schools.

Dillard says witnesses reported the vehicle struck the bus on the left side as the bus was nearing the end of its afternoon route. Only four students and the driver remained on the bus.

Parents were notified and were asked to pick their children up from the site.

Superintendent Bill W. Hopkins, Jr thanked the local school administrators and emergency agencies for their quick response and professionalism to ensure the safety and welfare of the students and driver involved.
