MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – University of South Alabama officials said a student was found dead in his dorm room Saturday.

WHNT News 19’s sister station CBS 42 reports campus police found 21-year-old Christopher Elan Thomas of Dothan in his Gamma 5 residence hall shortly before 7:00 A.M. Saturday morning.

Bob Lowry, Interim Director of Public Relations at the University of South Alabama, said upon arriving, University police began life-saving procedures. “Mobile Fire-Rescue also responded and attempted to resuscitate Thomas, but was not successful.”
