UPDATE: Police Make Arrest in Armed Robbery and Shooting at El Herradura Restaurant

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police have made an arrest in connection to an armed robbery they say almost turned deadly on Thursday evening.

Officers arrested Remarco Taylor on robbery charges.

Police say they responded to a shooting in the parking lot of El Herradura Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant is on South Memorial Parkway, near the Hobbs Road intersection. It happened just before 9:00 p.m. Thursday.

Officers say when they arrived on the scene, they found one victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim is identified as Wesley Cleland. His injuries are non-life threatening. Cleland said somebody robbed him and then took off. Witnesses were able to describe the offender’s vehicle to police.

Shortly after, police pulled over a car matching that description on Martin Road. They say Remarco Taylor was one of four people inside the car. He also had gunshot wounds. His injuries are also non life-threatening.
