HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Following on the heels of the successful Whimsical Woods, Burritt on the Mountain is presenting another original adventure for children ages 3-11 that combines learning and fun.

History comes alive at Burritt on the Mountain with the adventure Treasure Hunt at Gold Mountain. It turns out, Alabama had its very own gold rush in 1830. The Treasure Hunt at Gold Mountain is you opportunity to experience the gold rush for yourself!

Guests will arrive in the stagecoach, shop in the General Store for provisions, build a cabin out of child size faux-logs, prepare faux-food the old fashioned way and pan for gold in the sluice, all while collecting “gold nuggets” along the way. This life size, hands-on experience will provide hours of fun while presenting the rough and tumble life of a prospector.

Burritt on the Mountain presents Treasure Hunt at Gold Mountain now through  Labor Day.
