HORTON, Ala. (WHNT)–  The Blount County District Attorney’s office is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for killing an elderly woman.

Rhonette Lyles, 77, was found February 8th inside her burned home on Moman Road just across the Marshall County line.

“State fire marshals have determined that that was an arson and her death was the result of another person,” said DA Pamela Casey.

She says it’s believed Lyles died at the hands of someone who knew her.  The belief is also that multiple people know details about the killing.   Because of the close proximity to Marshall County, Casey believes people there might have information.

“Our investigation has lead us outside of Blount County.  So just because you don’t live in Blount County or you’re not from around here, I still need you to, if you know something.  If you’ve heard someone talk about this situation, we are offering that reward and we need you to come forward.”

If you have information you’re asked to call the Blount County Crimestoppers at (205) 274-2746.

Maybe a policy? Whatever reason- terribly sad anyone could do this to an elderly lady. I hope the police catch this/these murder(s).
