MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WHNT) – On Tuesday, five residential burglaries happened on Wildwood Street, Congress Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue.
Officers said the burglaries were reported between the hours of 3:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The burglaries came as a surprise to residents who live on these streets.

“Well, that's scary to me. I live with my mom and we live here alone," said resident Mercedes Alexander. "So I would hate for somebody to creep in on us in the middle of the night. It's terrifying to me. I would hate that."

Authorities said thieves took a TV, handgun and jewelry from the homes.

Captain Tommy Skipworth with the Muscle Shoals Police Department said the burglaries are under investigation. He urges residents to be vigilant.

“If anyone sees anything out of the ordinary, or any suspicious person in the neighborhood, or any vehicle that they know not to be in the neighborhood you should call the police department," said Skipworth.

If you have any information about these burglaries, you are urged to contact the Muscle Shoals Police Department or Shoals Area CrimeStoppers at (256) 386-8685.
