HUNTSVILLE, Ala.  (WHNT) -  Huntsville Police have found the missing Huntsville toddler they were searching for early Saturday morning in the city's northeast near Oakwood Avenue and the intersection of Maysville Road.

Police found the 2-year-old girl a block and a half from her home on Philpot Avenue, huddled  inside a recycling container.

She was taken to Huntsville Hospital, but police say she is expected to be fine.

Captain Juan Joiner from the North Precinct says they answered the call around 4:30 a.m. and began the search. Some 40 officers and K-9 units were involved as they first searched the little girl's home, and then the surrounding homes and yards.

The toddler was out in the below-freezing temperatures for two hours in just a dress and a diaper, and  police say she was definitely cold, but otherwise okay.

WHNT News 19 was on the scene covering this search when the child was found.
