Toney Fire & Rescue Saves Motorist from Vehicle Trapped in Water

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) A dramatic water rescue unfolded in a creek along Opp Reynolds Road Friday afternoon.

Toney Fire & Rescue crews responded to a call of a car inside the creek at creek bridge just east of Blue Water Springs Park just before 5:00 p.m. Emergency crews used boats to reach the injured driver inside the car that was submerged in about four feet of water. It took crews nearly an hour to get the driver safely to the river bank.

The driver was transported by HEMSI with minor injuries.

Madison County Sheriff Deputies were on scene and Alabama State Troopers are investigating.
