David Copeland Announces Candidacy for Superintendent of Madison County Schools

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Madison County Schools Superintendent David Copeland has announced that he will run for election to retain his position.

Copeland was appointed as superintendent of Madison County Schools in March 2012 former superintendent Terry Davis retired in late 2011.

Previously, Copeland served a total of five years as superintendent of Crane School District in Crane, Mo. and Cass Midway School District in Cleveland, Mo.

Copeland, a native of Birmingham, has served as an educator for over 30 years as a teacher, coach, principal, director of education, and superintendent.

Sparkman Middle School principal Ronnie Blair and Buckhorn teacher Matt Massey are also running.
