COURTLAND, Ala. (WHNT) – This week will be the last for employees at the International Paper mill in Courtland.

The company announced the plant’s closure back in September.  The move will impact an estimated 1,100 employees.

  • The company extended offers to 316 of the nearly 400 people who expressed interest in relocating to another International Paper facility
  • 660 people attended an external job fair for employees in November
  • International Paper officials say that resulted in nearly 300 requests for interviews or skills testing, as well as 80 external job offers
