HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police have arrested a second person in the January 17 shooting death of a Huntsville man.

This weekend, police and U.S. Marshals arrested 27-year-old Anthony Deandre Robinson of Huntsville.  He was caught in Birmingham and brought back to the Madison County Metro Jail.

Robinson is charged with two counts of capital murder: capital murder during a burglary and capital murder committed from outside a dwelling.

Robinson is the second person charged in the death of Timothy Smith, who was shot in the 4300 block of Knight Road.

Anthony Ray Battle, 27, is also charged with two counts of capital murder.

Huntsville Police Chief Lewis Morris says this second arrest brings all suspect into custody.

“I am proud of the quick arrest investigators made after the crime, and I am proud of the cooperation between our Major Crimes Unit, the U.S. Marshals Task Forces in Huntsville and Birmingham for their outstanding work in bringing the second suspect into custody,” said Chief Morris. “The teamwork between these investigators reinforces that we will expend all efforts to solve these homicides and bring those responsible to justice.”

Both suspects are being held without bond.
