HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Paramedics took one person to Huntsville Hospital after an overnight wreck Friday.

The single-car crash happened just before 2:00 a.m. on Bob Wallace Avenue near Patton road.

Huntsville police, firefighters and HEMSI responded to the crash.

Police say the driver was traveling on Bob Wallace when he lost control of the vehicle, left the road and slammed into a utility pole.

Firefighters arrived to find the driver trapped in the car. They had to remove part of the door to get him out.

Paramedics took the driver to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The car, which the driver had just purchased, was totaled in the crash.

Huntsville police say alcohol may have been a factor in the early-morning wreck.
