(WHNT) - Alexis is 15 and in the 10th grade.  She's the child we're featuring in this week's Kids To Love segment.

“I like to do history, english, physical science and cosmetology,” Alexis said.

Lee asks, “What do you want to do when you grow up?”

“Cosmology,” Alexis answers.

She’s taking classes now and loves it.

“I learned how to do an invisible braid, a hair bone braid.  I learned how to do finger waves.  I learned how to wash hair the right way,” Alexis said.

She also likes history.

“What character in our past would you like to meet?” we asked her.

“Christopher Columbus, cause he sailed off and discovered all those places,” Alexis answered.

Alexis would also like to meet a forever family.  She’s been in foster care for five years, and at least she is placed with her sister.

“I’m just glad cause I’m with my sister, but I miss my family, I miss them, but some of the things that happen to me there I don’t miss that,” Alexis said.

Alexis would like to stay with her sister Aaliyah.

“It’s really important cause she’s the only one I've got, I’m the only one she has so we have to stay together,” Alexis says.

You’ll have the chance to meet Aaliyah next week.

This is so sad to see all these children in foster care because their parents for whatever reason don’t want to take care of them. My mom was a foster parent for over 25 years before she passed away and she was able to bless alot of kids with her love. I pray Alexis and her sister find the family that will love them and cherish them.
