(WHNT) – Project Lifesaver is a group that provides individuals with a personalized radio transmitter bracelet.  When the person is missing, law enforcement and first responder, can track the transmitter and find the person in less than 30 minutes.

This is particularly helpful for families that have a loved one dealing with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.  The recovery time averages less than 30 minutes.

This project is being run out of the Limestone County Sheriff’s office.  If you are interested in the program for a loved one, you can call 256-232-0111. You can also fill out an application at the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office which is located at 101 West Elm Street in Athens, AL.

Limestone County TRIAD, a group that helps enhance the quality for senior citizens, is a major supporter of the bracelet program.
