Downtown Huntsville Inc. CEO Talks 2014 Events

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Downtown Huntsville, Inc. CEO Chad Emerson stopped by WHNT News 19 to talk about some upcoming 2014 events and projects.

The first is the Downtown Tech Tour, a trolley tour of  technology companies’ offices downtown. To be held on Jan. 30 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., this tour will include API Digital, Curse Gaming, AL.Com, Zero Point Frontiers, and Solid Earth. The cost is $15, but the event is sold out.

The Downtown Tech Tour will give people an exclusive look at some top technology companies that have made downtown Huntsville a great place to work.

Next, Emerson talked about the Retro Winter Games,  a Sunday afternoon of free retro games to celebrate the start of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Big Spring Park on Feb. 9, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The cost is free, but you have to register online at

The Retro Winter Games aims to give young professionals a reason to come downtown and enjoy the park even in the wintertime.
