Target Offers Free Credit Monitoring and Identity Protection to All U.S. Shoppers

(WHNT) - The Alabama Attorney General's Office reports that Target is offering one year of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection to all guests who shopped in their U.S. stores following a massive data breach involving customers’ credit and debit card information.

Up to 70 million credit and debit card accounts, including names, mailing addresses, phone numbers or email addresses, may have been impacted by those who shopped at Target between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15, 2013.

UPDATE: There have been reports of emails and other offers claiming to offer free credit monitoring following the Target data breach. If you do not sign up with the link above, it is a fake offer attempting to steal your information. Don't fall prey to these scams!
