CHEYENNE, Wyoming - A cherished memory from World War II has been returned to its rightful owner.

Betty McAleenan, 94, received her class ring this week, 70 years after she gave it to her late husband Robert.  He wore it when he went away to war and flew dozens of missions over the South Pacific, but was shot down in 1944.

His remains were found, and the ring was intact.

The ring was returned to McAleenan this week in a special ceremony.

AWESOME!! This is an AMAZING story. What are the chances the ring would be found? Especially since a lot of the Veterans themselves are still missing. I am very happy for her. I know it meant a lot.
