MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Investigators with the Madison County Fire Marshal’s office say a house fire in Triana appears to be suspicious.

Firefighters from Triana and Huntsville worked into the early morning hours Monday to put out a house fire at 140 Oregon Drive.  The fire started about 10:30 p.m Sunday — neighbors reported seeing flames coming from the home and dialed 911.

Triana firefighters immediately called for backup when they arrived on the scene.  The home was engulfed in flames.

It took the two departments about 20 minutes to get the fire under control. They spent the next couple of hours putting out hot spots.

No one was inside the home, and investigators say the owners are out of town.

Huntsville fire crews searched the burned out remains of the home for any victims.
