Last Week’s Cold Snap Was Nothing Compared to 1985

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-- Last week temperatures across the area dropped into the single digits.  But 29 years ago this month, the mercury dropped even farther.

On January 21, 1985 the temperature in Huntsville reached -11 and the wind chill factors hit -40.   Above is a story WHNT News 19 did on that cold snap almost three decades ago.
