When Kayla grows up she wants to be a basketball player or a nurse.  She likes to help people.  Tonight, she needs someone to help her.

Kayla is 12 and in the 6th grade.

Her favorite subjects are reading and language.

“I like to read some picture book, some chapter books, I like to read Charlotte’s Web in chapter books.” Kayla said.

She is very athletic and loves sports!

“Skate, and swim, play volleyball, football and basketball,” Kayla lists what she likes.

“How long have you been in foster care,” Lee asks.

“Going on 8 years,” Kayla answers.

Kayla has been in too many foster homes to count.  She’s still looking for the right home.

“To find me a home that will love me and take care of me,” Kayla says.

Kayla has a kitty she named pumpkin.  It’s the only family that she can depend on not to hurt her.

“Cause I don’t need to live with a family that will abuse me and not feed me.” Kayla says.
