SCANT CITY, Ala. (WHNT)– Alabama State Troopers are investigating an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning.   The man, who has not been identified, is in critical condition at Marshall Medical Center North.

Troopers are releasing very few details about the incident.   They will only say it took place in the Scant City area of Marshall County which is between Guntersville and Arab.

a lady i know got hit in front of walmart yesterday in guntersville. a broken leg and 10 staples in her head. just another example of the poor driving skills in alabama.

I almost hit someone not because I wasn’t paying attention or because I was driving poorly but because of there lack of distance from the road and since it was dark and they decided to wear black it hard to see them. Some of these things can be avoided if these folks stay away from the road and wear reflective or bright colors or stay off the pavement.

Unfortunately most of the details in this story are incorrect. The pedestrian has been identified. He is David Pike, 41 of Scant City. He is not at Marshall Medical Center, he is in Huntsville Hospital in critical condition and he was hit late Friday night around 10pm. Who does the investigation on these stories? Or does anyone?
