DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a strange case involving a burned body found in a vehicle in Geraldine.
Around 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Geraldine Fire Department received a call about a car fire along County Road 135. They responded and found the car, and found a burned body inside the vehicle.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said it’s not clear yet if the person was a man or a woman.
The Sheriff’s Office contacted several surrounding counties to see if they had any missing persons report. Etowah County does, and send a crew to the scene to gather evidence.
The body was sent to Huntsville for an autopsy.
