HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Fire and Rescue are investigating a house fire where one person was found dead.

Firefighters were called to a house early Sunday morning on Cove Lake Road. Investigators say a body was found inside in the kitchen area.

When crews arrived on the scene they say the house was completely engulfed in flames.

Crews on the scene tell us they could not enter the home because the fire was too intense for them to go in safely.

The Madison County coroner says the victim’s name will not be released until an autopsy is completed. WHNT News 19 learned the house is owned by Linnet Rogers.

Investigators aren’t sure how the fire started.

Linnet was the sweetest lady. Anyone who has ever shopped at Costco in Huntsville has crossed paths with her. I’ll miss seeing her smiling face there so very much. May she rest in peace.

Jennifer, I am SO glad you posted your comment! You’re right, she looked 45, acted even younger, and was one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. To me, she was “The Face of Costco.” It won’t be the same there without her.

Linnet Rogers was my aunt. Even in hard times, not to mention cold times as it was Alaska. She was always there for anybody who needed help. And always putting other peoples needs, above her own. No matter how hard things were for her. I love you auntie linnet. And I will never forget you. I’m proud to have been one of your nephews, for thirty plus years… Josh
