Two North Alabama Schools Receive Blue Ribbon Awards

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Two north Alabama schools were officially designated as National Blue Ribbon Schools on Tuesday.

Holy Spirit Regional School in Huntsville and Walnut Grove Elementary in Madison County received their commemorative plaques in a special ceremony in Washington, D.C.


The schools learned the news September 24, and the official presentation was this week.  Staff members from both schools went to Washington, D.C. to receive the awards from the U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday.

In all, 286 schools nationwide received the National Blue Ribbon School Award in 2013.
