HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The lawyers for a man accused of attempting to murder a Huntsville police officer have requested a hearing for electronic monitoring in lieu of bond.

Olusola Amimbola Kuponiyi, is charged with the attempted murder of a Huntsville Police officer in connection to an incident where police say that Kuponiyi slammed Officer Jonathan Sallis onto the ground, slamming his head numerous times on the pavement.

The arrest warrant for Kuponiyi said he grabbed the officer’s weapon and tried to pull it out of the holster several times, pulling so hard Officer Salis was coming off the ground.

The warrant stated Kuponiyi stabbed Officer Sallis with a knife on his arm, and bit him, leaving several bite marks and stomping him with his foot, leaving a shoeprint. Kuponiyi is also accused of spraying Officer Sallis with his own pepper spray.

If he does all that to a police officer then he is a definite threat to the public. He would probably run to another country. No one with any sense would think they could slam, bite, stomp, knife and pepper spray a police officer and walk away with a slap on the wrist. Keep this dangerous maniac locked up and make it permanent!
