Malls, Huntsville Police & Churches Offer Indoor Options to Keep Trick-or-Treaters Dry

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – We’re watching the weather closely at WHNT News 19, just as families are trying to finalize Halloween trick-or-treating plans.

You have indoor options, too.  In Huntsville, officers and volunteers with Huntsville Community Watch will hand out candy to children at all three police precincts:

*North Precinct from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The North Precinct is located at 2105-B Mastin Lake Rd.  Look for a walk-through haunted house here!

*South Precinct from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The South Precinct is located at 7900 Bailey Cove Rd.  This location will have plenty of candy and displays.

*West Precinct from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The West Precinct is located at 2110 Clinton Ave.  There’s a Halloween carnival at this location.

Police Chief Lewis Morris has also increased patrols in neighborhoods on Thursday evening, October 31.

“Huntsville has been very fortunate over the years not to have any incidents involving motorists or children and our Officers will be monitoring traffic and children to keep that safe record,” said Chief Morris.


Parkway Place and Madison Square will both celebrate Mall-O-Ween from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday. Various stores will hand out candy.  Regency Square Mall in Florence will also host a Mall-O-Ween from 5 to 7 p.m.  Kids up to age 12 can get treats and compete in costume contests.


First Nazarene Church, at 9640 Meridian Street in Huntsville, will host an indoor trick-or-treat event from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Good Shepherd Catholic Church will have an indoor trunk-or-treat celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.  Everyone is welcome.  The church is located at 13550 Chaney Thompson Road in Huntsville.

Jackson Way Baptist Church in Huntsville will host an indoor trunk-or-treat from 6 to 8 p.m.  The community is welcome.
