LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - Firefighters from Town Creek and Courtland were called to a home on County Road 265 just south of Town Creek around 9:30 Tuesday night.

The Town Creek Fire Chief lives next door to the home, and said by the time they got the call, flames were already shooting out of the roof of the house.

No one was hurt in the fire, but the home is a total loss.

The Alabama State Fire Marshal has been called in to help with the investigation of what started the fire, because crews say the house has been empty for the last month.
