HUNTSVILLE Ala. (WHNT) — The story we brought you several weeks ago is turning into a happy ending so far.

Tucker Lane is Madison County deputy Matt Lane and Faith Stapler’s son. He was born on October first with severe medical problems. His heart is in the right side of his body and he was also born without a spleen.

In these last few weeks deputies tell WHNT News 19 Tucker is improving. Doctors have taken him off the ventilator and he seems to be doing okay.

Tucker will still have to undergo several surgeries before his first birthday.

Since he’s been born, Madison County Deputies and other area law enforcement officials have been rallying around Tucker and his family.

Along with friends they’ve been working to help Tucker’s parents with the hospital costs in what will be a long stay for the little boy.
