HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Knowledge is power.  But what would you do if you knew your risk of getting cancer a second time?  That’s what Tammi Scruggs faced.

“I knew there was more to it than just my appendix.  Two rounds of chemo, and then I went through the hysterectomy, then four more rounds of chemo,” Scruggs said.

She looked death in the eye once.

“My doctor felt like it wasn’t a question of if, it was a question of when,” Scruggs said.

She wasn't willing to do it twice.

Her radical decision... based on a blood test.
