GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Pilgrim’s Pride in Guntersville said second shift would not be operating Friday afternoon.

A human resources employee called to notify us of this shortly after 12 p.m. She said the plant is ‘experiencing issues’ but did not elaborate on what the issues are.  She said it didn’t have anything to do with plant safety.

Third shift will be operating Friday.

The person said all three shifts would operate Saturday.

This affects the Guntersville plant only.

City of guntersville had a water main issues witch caused dirt to get in the water. The plant can’t run with dirty water. They closed the plant until the water issues are over with before starting the plant back.
