Hay Ride in DeKalb County Sends 6 to Hospital

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies say a car rear-ended a hay ride  just before 8:00 p.m. Friday.

Six young people have been taken to the hospital.  One of them is a 14-year-old who was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

Deputies say it happened on County Road 568 in the Whiton community.  WHNT News 19 has learned the teenagers on the hay ride were from the Sand Rock and Arab communities.

State Troopers are investigating the wreck.

    Yes i work at that hay farms HAUNTED TRAIL and i saw the helicopter fly over me and pickup a kid and flew away my prayers go out to the family of these kids
