FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - Lauderdale County investigators say they got new leads within the past 24 hours regarding the largest child pornography case they've ever seen.

David Erick Gray is accused of having thousands of inappropriate images.

Gray was scheduled to have a bond hearing Thursday afternoon, but that hearing was delayed due to these latest developments.

According to investigators, a forensic purge of David Gray's computers, tablets, and hard drives, uncovered more than 10,000 images of child pornography and detectives say that number may continue to climb.

David Gray walked quickly and silently into Judge Mike Jones’ courtroom, but the judge says he couldn't rule on lowering a bond without more information.

According to Florence Police, a woman came across a few images of the child pornography on Gray's computer and called police.

Detectives got a search warrant and confiscated several items of evidence.

Investigators say they also discovered disturbing videos of Gray sexually abusing an adult.

"When you are dealing with that high volume of child pornography you want to make absolutely certain there are no local victims involved," said Lauderdale County Assistant District Attorney Will Powell.  "We will aggressively pursue any and all leads indicating that."

Sources inside the Lauderdale County District Attorney's office say the large volume of evidence in this case may require federal authorities to get involved.

Judge Jones delayed the bond hearing until next week.  At that time, the District Attorney’s office will present any new findings.
