Shirley Weeks, 52, filed a motion on her own behalf asking Judge Gil Self for a bond reduction.

Weeks has been in jail since her arrest on theft of property charges, and asked the judge to reduce her bond from the current $10,000.  Judge Self denied the request.

According to court records, Weeks pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges in September, and was sentenced to six months in prison.

A trial date on her theft charge is tentatively set for later this month.

She should not get lower bail. Stealing thousands of dollars from an important cause as the Volunteer Fire Dept and being cruel to animals. Let her rot in jail!
