Authorities responded after a 911 call said a woman had been shot in the front yard of a home on 12th Avenue. Police say they found Miller lying in the yard.  Paramedics rushed her to Decatur Morgan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say Miller was able to identify Mason as the person who shot her.

Police taped off the area, collected several shell casings and started talking to witnesses.

Officers pulled over a vehicle matching Mason’s car description near Wimberly Drive SW.  This was about 2 a.m.  They questioned a passenger they identified as Mason.

Police brought Mason and the driver of the vehicle to the Decatur Police Department.  They charged Mason and booked him in the Decatur  City Jail.  His bond has not been set yet.
