Update: Three Men Shot on University Drive in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - Three people were shot, two of whom suffered life-threatening injuries, following a shooting in Huntsville.

Police say it happened around 2:30 a.m. at the LaQuinta Inn on University Drive.

That's between Old Monrovia Road NW and Wynn Drive.

Police say they found one person in front of the LaQuinta Inn with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Officers found another person in front of a nearby Denny's Restaurant with a gunshot  wound.  Police located a third person walking in the area, also suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police identify one of the gunshot victims as 24-year-old Thaddeus Johnson.  The other two victims are juveniles, both 16 years old.

Two victims were rushed to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injures.

Police are interviewing witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.
