Woman Makes 300 Sandwiches For Boyfriend, Seeking Engagement Ring

Would you be willing to make 300 sandwiches for your significant other? If it meant wedded bliss?

The New York Post reports one of its staffers, Stephanie Smith, is doing just that. She’s also reportedly behind the blog 300sandwiches.com, which has “attracted attention from culinary world icons such as Emeril Lagasse, Michael White and Ken Friedman.”

In an interview with The Post, Smith said it was her boyfriend constantly asking how long she’d been awake, followed by, “Why haven’t you made me a sandwich yet?” that prompted her to start cooking:

“As he finished that last bite, he made an unexpected declaration of how much he loved me and that sandwich: “Honey, you’re 300 sandwiches away from an engagement ring!”

Smith stands by her decision to go after sandwich bliss an a ring. Not everyone agrees though. Some commenters online have criticized her and called her things like “desperate” or a Stepford-like woman.
