DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) - Five new Panda Warmer newborn beds went into service Friday at Decatur Morgan Hospital, each valued at just over $20,000.

The beds are designed to constantly monitor a newborn infant's vital stats, helping protect the life as well as the comfort of the baby.

Hospital officials say the equipment represents the very latest technology available to medical care providers.

The beds were provided by the Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation with proceeds raised earlier this year during their annual Dragon Boat Race held at Point Mallard.
