Today: Huntsville’s Operation Green Team to Give Away Beautyberry, Kale Plants

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Need some new plants for your fall garden? Huntsville’s Operation Green Team has a great giveaway today.

In honor of National Planting Day, the city will give away 4,000 American Beautyberry plants and 1,880 edible kale plants.

Drop by Huntsville City Hall, at 308 Fountain Circle, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (Thursday, September 26.)

There will also be free hot dogs and water. The event will be held rain or shine.

The American Beautyberry plant is drought tolerant.
