One Brother’s Murder Trial Delayed Until January

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – The trial of a Lauderdale County man accused of helping his brother escape from law enforcement after allegedly murdering a man has been delayed.

According to courthouse records, the trial scheduled to start today for Jerry Brewer has been delayed until January.

Brewer is charged with hindering prosecution, theft of property and receiving stolen property.

Investigators say Jerry Brewer assisted his brother Shannon in fleeing to Florida after the stabbing death of 49-year-old Mark Dishon.

Shannon Brewer’s trial is tentatively┬áscheduled for November 18.
