ATHENS, Ala (WHNT) - This week's Tools for Teachers award recipient is Debbie Elmore, a science teacher at Athens Intermediate School. She was nominated by Amanda Roberts, whose daughter was in Ms. Elmore's class last year.

Dr. Benitha Jones, Assistant Principal at Athens Intermediate, helped us surprise Ms. Elmore.

Elmore is known for keeping science a fun and engaging experience for her kids, and plans to spend the $319 prize that accompanies our Tools for Teachers award on dissection. More specifically, she hopes to purchase cow eyes, so her students can learn more about how lenses work.

If you know a worthy teacher, coach, principal, or aide, tells us about them through the Tools for Teachers nomination form.

Our Tools for Teachers segment airs every Wednesday on WHNT News 19 at 5:00 p.m.
