Elmore Case Continued; Charged with Murder of Common-Law Wife

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A preliminary hearing for a Madison County man charged with murder has been continued.

Jeffrey Prince Elmore, 55, is charged in connection with the killing of his common-law wife, 63-year-old Susan Elaine Adkins. Deputies say she was suffocated.

They say Elmore has also confessed and alcohol may have been a factor in this case.

Elmore remains in custody in the Madison County Detention Facility. A new hearing date has not been set.
