Police Investigate Child Abuse Following Domestic Dispute

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville police report that they are investigating a child abuse case that occurred just before 5:00 on Wednesday evening on Ashland Dr.

Police say that the child was in a car seat when its father and a woman became involved in a domestic dispute.

The father of the child became upset and picked up the car seat holding the child and shook it, according to police.  The child was transported to Huntsville Hospital for medical testing.

There have been no arrests yet in this case, but charges could be pending.  Currently, police have not released the name of the father or the condition of the child.
