BOAZ-The Boaz Pirates are ready for some football despite having to replace all but two offensive starters from a year ago. Both of them are linemen. Add to that, a brand new Head Coach in Eric Whaley. He says there are three excellent candidates to start at Quarterback and that the Pirates will rely heavily on this year's 12 Seniors to fill the remaining holes. Coach Whaley says he's not only rebuilding the roster, but also changing the 'little things' too.

Boaz lost Defensive End Terrell Woods to graduation, but maintains some continuity on the D with return of Cornerback Kennedy Nicholson. The Pirates open the season August 29 against Guntersville.
