Teen Dies After Being Shot, Beaten in Decatur

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) -- A teenager was killed just before midnight Tuesday.  According to Decatur Police, the teen was beaten and shot.

It happened at a trailer park on Highway 20, just east of Beltline Road.  Decatur Police say the victim was Jim Uriostegui, 18.

Police say officers responded at 11:49 p.m. Tuesday to a call of a fight at Lot 45 of the trailer park.  While en route, officers were notified that shots had been fired.  When officers arrived, the found Uriostegui lying on the ground near one of the mobile homes.  He was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
