MADISON, Ala. – Keeping up with activities throughout the Madison City School District, as well as a child’s meal account, is easier than you might expect. The following apps can do a lot to keep mom and dad informed.

The district offers a free-to-download mobile app for iPad (just search Madison City Schools) with a daily menu summary, latest news stream, new year registration information and general calendar. Users can also easily access pages for individual schools within the district. There’s also a section for students, accessible with a log-in.

The school district has also adopted a free mobile app for Android and iPhone to help parents and guardians manage their child’s meal account at a school. PayPams can be found with a quick search in your device’s app store and is the “preferred meal payment system by the school district.”

Users can make payments, view meal account balances, cafeteria purchases, and payment history, right from a smartphone. The app can also be personalized with added student pictures. Users with more than one child can make deposits through a single account.

Details about the MCS school lunch and breakfast program, including more information on PayPams, can be found on the website: under the “child nutrition” link.
