MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The trial date for Iqbal Memon, accused of Medicare fraud, has been set.

Iqbal Memon was arrested on July 24 and charged with stealing $7,000 from the Alabama Medicaid Agency.  His trial is set for September 16.

In addition to the Medicaid fraud charges, Iqbal Memon is also charged with hindering prosecution.  Authorities say Memon tried to help his son leave the country in 2012 to avoid prosecution in the Discovery Middle School case.

Iqbal Memon is the father of Hammad Memon, the convicted murderer in the 2010 shooting death of Todd Brown at Discovery Middle School in Madison.
