Huntsville Police Investigating Dollar General Robbery Attempt

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police were called to the scene of a reported armed robbery at the Dollar General on Meridian Street Friday night.

It happened at 8:50 p.m.  Police say two men wearing all black entered the store, one of them was armed with a sawed-off shotgun.

Investigators say one of them demanded money.  Police say the suspects heard a sound from the back of the store from another employee.  Police tell us the noise “spooked” the two suspects.

Police say the two left without taking any money.  Police canine units followed a scent for a few blocks but could not locate the suspects.
