HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The tornadoes of April 27, 2011 brought destruction all across the Tennessee Valley. On this day, 27 tornadoes destroyed homes, business and neighborhoods. More than 250 people died in the state of Alabama.

The damage was immense, but the Valley came together with strength to help neighbors and remembering the loss.

On April 27, the National Weather Service in Huntsville  issued 92 tornado warnings, 31 severe thunderstorm warnings and seven flash flood warnings.
