DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) - A motorcyclist is recovering after colliding with a van late Thursday night in Decatur.

It happened just before midnight at the intersection of Stratford Road and County Club Road. Police say Monty Dodson, 35, of Trinity was driving a 1994 Harley Davidson northbound on Country Club Road, and the van was traveling east on Stratford.

The motorcycle flew about 200 feet before landing on the side of the road.  Dodson was taken to Huntsville Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition on Friday.

Lou Ann Mitchell, 44, of Decatur was driving the Honda Odyssey van.  Neither she nor her passenger, Stephen Mitchell, were hurt.

Police continue their investigation.
