LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - The population of Limestone County is growing, which means the Limestone County Sheriff's Department has more calls to go on.

Sheriff Mike Blakely has asked the county commission for two extra deputies to patrol the roads.  He says the crime rate hasn't increased, but the larger population means more arrests.

Blakely hope he will get an answer from the commission before the new fiscal year begins on October 1.
